OLED Production Lasers
Ultraviolet laser annealing is widely used in the production of the backplanes for organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays for converting amorphous silicon (a-Si) to polycrystalline silicon (p-Si) therefore increasing its electron mobility. These lasers, are line beam is scanned over a thin (typical 50 nm) a-Si film, which absorbs the UV radiation, partially melts the surface and leads to the formation of polysilicon. Third and fourth harmonic diode pumped solid state Nd: YAG lasers are ideal for OLED production lasers because they provide high-quality repeatable pulses ideal for high volume mass production. These 355 nm and 266 nm lasers offer picosecond pulse widths with pulse repetition rates of up to 40 kHz. On this page you will find a list of all of the OLED production lasers we offer at RPMC, which are ideal for backplane manufacturing.
