Gesture Recognition Lasers

3D gesture recognition works by passing an infrared laser beam through a cylindrical optic to create a sheet of light, to capture depth information and monitor changes in object location based on the reflected light.  These lasers enable you to control a wide variety of digital devices from games or their entire entertainment center with gestures without getting up from the couch or having to locate the remote control.  Vertical-Cavity, Surface-Emitting Lasers (VCSELs) are ideal gesture recognition lasers due to lower power consumption and high beam quality.  Additionally, they produce low speckle imagery commonly seen with LED illumination.  On this page, you will find a list of all of the VCSEL and other gesture recognition lasers we offer at RPMC, including fiber lasers and diode-pumped solid-state lasers.
